The high plains of Elgin, Arizona are beautiful, with amazing vistas in every direction and a night sky so full of stars that it looks like a painting. We had heard good things about wineries in Elgin so we decided to check it out Salvatore Vineyards for ourselves.
It was a blustery day in Sonoita, Arizona, with a wind that rattled windows and frightened cats. A perfect day to do some wine tasting at Callaghan Vineyards.
It was the first week of 2024 and we wanted to celebrate the new year and explore more of our new home San Diego. Of course, that meant wine tasting too! Off we went to enjoy a tasting at Carruth Cellars.

Recently we decided to visit Ocean Beach, quickly learning that we should call it “OB” and that we should visit Gianni Buonomo Vintners.
What is the first thing we did after moving to San Diego? We checked out the local winery scene, of course! Our first stop was Bernardo Winery in beautiful Ranch Bernardo.
We love visiting wineries whenever we have an unscheduled weekend! There are a few winery events, however, that cause us to rearrange our schedule to attend. When we learned that Las Positas Vineyards was presenting their 6th Annual Bacon and Barbera Pairing weekend, we cleared our calendar to attend. This is an event not to be missed!
With Halloween just around the corner, we decided to give ourselves an early, slightly spooky treat: a tasting at Wood Family Vineyards.
We love winery parties, and there is one winery’s party that can make us change our calendar: Ruby Hill Winery. When they announce a member appreciation party, we clear our calendar!
A beautifully clear, sunny day brought us to Dashe Cellars to sip their wine and take in the amazing views of San Francisco. What a great way to spend an afternoon!
It was a brilliant summer morning in Murphys and we only had time to visit one winery. Such a conundrum given the wealth of wonderful wineries along Main Street! We made our choice: time to visit Lavender Ridge Vineyard.
At long last, we made it back up to the Russian River area to visit one of our favorites, Balletto Vineyards!
