Parties are amazing! Combine fun people, some wine, some food, maybe even some music, and a wonderful time can be had by all. Add a dash of something new and the party can rise to a whole new level! Here’s an idea for your next party that can get people mingling and their creative juices flowing:
As we prepared for our annual Christmas Day party, Delaynie proposed a new element for the evening: give our wine pairings a back story! She created the template that is shown here, and placed a copy beside each wine bottle. We had a broad array of appetizers and desserts, each paired with a lovely local wine. The challenge to our guests was simple: create a complete story about each wine as though the wine was a living person. A page was placed beside each wine (on a clipboard), accompanied by colored markers and pencils. At first, our guests were a bit puzzled, but they quickly embraced the concept and got creative!

As you can see, there were no right or wrong answers, just a lot of fun conversation and reasons to move around the party area.
