My annual summer trip is over, Target is stocking their aisles with back to school supplies and there is talk on my Facebook page of Fantasy Football Leagues. This can only mean one thing: the end of summer is rapidly approaching. Before you give up completely and bust out your boots and sweatshirts, find a friend who has a boat, or lives on a lake, or has a pool, or heck, just sit in a beach chair on a patio and enjoy this fabulous summertime find.
As much as I would like to take credit for discovering this gem, the credit goes to my beautiful sister-in-law, Julie, who found the Figata Spritz at K&L Wine Merchants at their San Francisco location. Julie purchased a couple of bottles at $9 each to bring to our family vacation in Palm Springs and it was the perfect drink (following our morning mimosas) to sip while sitting in the pool during 100 degree heat and at only 8% alcohol it makes for a responsible choice.
Ready for pool-side savoring! |
While at K&L last month for a fun champagne tasting, I made sure to pick up three bottles (on sale — score!) for my trip to Pinecrest. Again, it turned out to be the perfect orange and refreshing beverage on the boat as it did in the pool. So stop by K&L in Redwood City, San Francisco or Hollywood, CA or place an order online before summer ends!
About the Author: Sarah's philosophy is that every occasion; a wedding, job promotion, Friday night after a tough week or even sitting at a Pai Gow table in Las Vegas should be celebrated with a glass of bubbly in hand. Her reviews will be casual, just like her. Descriptions will be basic and typically consist of a great place to drink said wine.
So is it like a really good wine cooler? Is it still primarily made from grapes? Inquiring minds want to know!
