Upcoming: Livermore Airport Open House and Wine Pour

What is more fun than watching an air show that includes flying and static airplane displays, vintage cars and live music? Why, add the chance to taste amazing wines from local wineries, of course! Get ready, it is just around the corner!

The Livermore Airport Open House has been a favorite autumn activity for years. Recently the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Association has added to the festivities by coordinating a wine tasting event right at the airport!

LVAirportLastThis will the 21st year for the Open House, a Livermore icon. Over the years, the event has expanded, adding live music, food trucks, local vendors and vintage cars. Add wine tasting and the day is pretty much perfect! That’s right, there will be 20 local wineries will be pouring their wines for your enjoyment, right on the tarmac.

All of this fun will take place on Saturday, October 7, from 10am to 4pm at the Livermore Municipal Airport. The tastings will be available as a “Solo Flight” which includes $20 of tasting tickets and a commemorative wine glass for $20 and “My Co-pilot & I” which doubles the tasting tickets and provided two glasses for $40. Tickets can be purchased in advance at LVWine.org.

To pair with all this lovely wine, there will be gourmet foods presented by Food Truck Mafia. To keep everyone entertained, there will be performances and flybys from: Vicky Benzing Aerosports, Wild Thing Air Shows, Rich Perkins’ Marchetti, parachute demonstration jumps, and RedFox Airshows. Quite a line-up!

Although the Livermore Airport Open House & Air Show is open to the public and all ages, be sure to bring your ID if you’re planning to taste some wine. Don’t fret, if you don’t order tasting tickets in advance, glasses and tasting tickets will also be available at the event.

Can’t wait to see this all in action!
