After a lovely Valentine’s Day celebrating our love, we had the weekend to celebrate our other passion: wine! We chose to explore a new winery (for us) in Livermore, Rosa Fierro Cellars.

Valentine’s Day in wine country offers so many opportunities to show your sweetie how much you care. This year we celebrated the day with the Mello Cielo bus tour at Ruby Hill Vineyards!

It was the depths of winter in Livermore and we were feeling sorry for ourselves. There were clouds in the sky and the temperature was barely breaking into the 60s. Then we remembered our friends and family back east, struggling through snowbanks and sub-zero temperatures. To salve our bruised emotions we decided to further celebrate our wise decision to move to California and do some wine tasting at Concannon Vineyard.

Two of our favorite flavors are chocolate and wine. That made the “Chocolate Truffle and Wine Pairing” event at Las Positas Vineyards the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

The Livermore Valley has a lot to enjoy during the holidays, but snow is not on the list. The way we like to get in the holiday spirit is to participate in the annual Holidays in the Vineyards.

We believe that the best wine is the wine that you are enjoying right now. Nonetheless, it is handy to have some trusted opinions about wine to guide us as we decide what to taste next. We recently checked in with Dante Robere Vineyards to taste their latest Wine Enthusiast award winners.

As the days get shorter and the evenings get colder, we can take comfort in the knowledge that another season of wine club release parties is upon us. The first party on our calendar: Ruby Hill Winery!

Wine club release parties can be amazing, but hosting a club event while serving non-members guests can get a bit hectic. To lower the stress and increase the “club” feel, Eagle Ridge Vineyard hosted their very first wine club release dinner. Here’s how it went:

Omega Road Winery has enjoyed great success in their short time in Livermore. So much success, in fact, that they outgrew their tasting room. Luckily, they found a new and larger space mere steps from their old space!
