With Livermore home to so many great wineries, it is easy to fall into a rut, visiting the same few wineries over and over. Recently we decided to revisit some of the wineries that we have not visited for a year or more. To our surprise, this list included the beautiful Rios-Lovell Estate Winery.
Another sunny afternoon in Livermore and it was time for some wine tasting! With so many fine wineries to choose from, how to create a tour list? We decided to visit some wineries that we had not visited for too long. First stop: the good folks at Las Positas Vineyards.
Some wineries run hot and cold, at least for us. Sometimes they’re a lot of fun, other times not so much. Other wineries, though, can be counted on to deliver a great tasting experience every time. Recently, we really needed a good tasting to save the day, so we went to Dante Robere. They delivered a great tasting once again!
We love visiting wineries! Recently, though, we were able to raise the experience to an entire new level: we LIVED in a winery. That’s right, we were surrounded by grapevines, with our hosts treating us to wine made from these very vines. Oh, and our hosts were the Count and Countess of the Chateau du Petit Thouars.
A sunny afternoon in Livermore. What is there to do? Why, drop by the Wood Family Vineyards tasting room, of course!
What is better than wine tasting? How about two wine tastings in one? That is exactly what happened when Jane Eyre invited us to a private tasting at Domaine Newman in Beaune, France.
The term “hidden gem” can be overused. This is one case where the label is more than deserved, because this amazing winery does not even have a sign. We were beyond excited to be invited behind the gates of Domaine Newman.
The Livermore Valley has a long and prestigious history of fine wineries. This year marks the 20th anniversary of a landmark in Livermore: the Mitchell Katz Winery. We dropped in to see what was new!
The lovely town of Beaune in the heart of the Burgundy region of France is rich with wineries and tasting rooms. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to visit one of the oldest and most respected among them: Bouchard Pere et Fils.
Wine tasting is always fun, but tasting as a club member is even better! We recently had the pleasure of experiencing the “Club 1883” tasting at Concannon Vineyard.
