Once the grape harvest is over, the wondrous grape vine has given its best. Now the vineyard deserves some recovery time to prepare for next year’s vintage. Have you ever wondered how vineyard managers prepare for winter?

We love to go wine tasting, obviously. This site alone has hundreds of proof points for that. Most of our tasting experiences are in Northern California, but we occasionally venture further afield. In this case, we drove the barren scenery of I-5 all the way to Carlsbad. Once there, of course, we went wine tasting!

Livermore Airport’s annual open house, held the first weekend in October, is always a popular destination, and it’s no wonder why. This year’s event marked 21 years, and featured high-flying acrobatics performances by renowned air show pilots, dozens of classic, military, and aerobatic aircraft on display, parachute jumps, fly-bys, vintage automobiles, food trucks and … WINE TASTING!

The Napa Valley is awash with wonderful wineries. Any wine tasting visit to the area is necessarily a selection of a few great wineries from an overwhelming roster of great wineries. One such great winery had been skipped for far too long, so we decided to correct this oversight with a new visit to a favorite: Peju Winery.

We were understandably excited about the Press Club’s Harvest Celebration. It was a great chance to check out a trendy San Francisco lounge while getting acquainted with some new wineries and their wines. In this instance, our expectations were exceeded by the actual event!
