One of the newer wineries to grace Livermore is the Las Positias Vineyards. Inhabiting the facility formerly housing the Deer Ridge winery, LPV offers a broad range of wines in a beautiful setting. In addition to the wonderfuls wines, they have a great outdoor area for a quick snack and a private event area for weddings and parties.

Don’t be fooled by the newness of the winery. The Maier family has been growing grapes and creating wine for years. They have small estate tracts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petite Verdot, Tempranillo, Barbera, Petite Sirah and Chardonnay. They describe their style as a “marriage of Old World craftsmanship and New World pioneer spirit.” We describe their style as: delicious!
The wonderful dark wood tasting bar sets a nice tone as you dive into their extensive wine list. We enjoy quite a few of their wines. You can see their entire wine list here. One of our favorite LPV wines is their Pinot Grigio. It is crisp, clean and has an unusually brilliant finish. Perfect for sipping while participating in a brisk game of backyard lawn golf.
