We love getting to know the people who make the wine we taste! As we all stay safe in our homes and exercise social distancing, we spent some time learning a bit about the winemaker at Charles R Winery, Lisa Lee.

With the days of “shelter in place” dragging on, our thoughts go to a better time, when fun afternoons were spent in tasting rooms exploring new and favorite wines. Recently, though, we found out about the next best thing: a To-Go Tasting Box from Mitchella Winery!
As “sheltering in place” drags on, we like to think of happier times. Those memories include numerous visits to family-owned Omega Road Winery. So it only made sense to spend some time (electronically) with one of the owner/winemakers Alexandra Henkelman!
With the declaration of “Shelter at Home” keeping us all away from wineries and tasting rooms, we thought that the next best thing would be an interview with a local winemaker. We were looking for a picturesque, delicious winery to complete our day in Napa, with a focus on wineries we had not visited before. We found a perfect match: Rombauer Vineyards.
What a day! It was time to sip and learn, or learn and sip actually, as we toured and tasted at the amazing Schramsberg Vineyards.
As the vineyards start to show bits of green along their vines, our yearning for new winetasting experiences grows. What new wines are being poured in the tasting room? What have we missed? That was our motivation for our recent visit to the Omega Road Winery.
Springtime comes early to the Livermore Valley. Around Valentine’s Day the vines wake up and send their first tentative new shoots out into the sunlight. On just such a sunny day, we visited a Livermore landmark: Page Mill Winery.
